Privacy Policy

PMDA is a music player that connects to a self-hosted PMDA server that you (or your administrator) run. This policy explains what the mobile app does and does not do with data.

Where your data lives

• Your account, music library, likes, playlists, and listening history live on your own PMDA server — not on our infrastructure.
• The app stores locally on your device only: the server address you connected to, your session token (in the device's secure storage), your preferences, and any music you explicitly download for offline playback. You can wipe all of this from the app at any time (Profile → Disconnect & wipe local data).

Network connections

The app communicates only with:

• Your PMDA server — to browse and stream your library.
• Apple / Google system services — for standard OS functions (background audio, lock-screen controls, CarPlay / Android Auto).

The app makes no third-party calls of its own. Cover art and lyrics are fetched server-side by your PMDA server (from public sources such as LRCLIB and the Cover Art Archive); the app itself never contacts those services.

Permissions

• Background audio — to keep playing when the app is backgrounded or the screen is locked.
• Local network (iOS) — to reach a PMDA server on your home/office network.
• Storage — to save downloads for offline playback.
• Notifications (optional) — playback controls only, if you enable them.

Account & deletion

The app does not create accounts. Accounts are provisioned on your self-hosted server by its administrator. To remove your data from the app, use Disconnect & wipe local data; to remove your account and library data, contact your PMDA server administrator.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date.
